Sometimes listening to your body is the hardest thing to do. So frequently we ignore its signals that most of us don't even recognize them anymore. As a self proclaimed coffee addict I totally get this! That is why it important to at least know your baseline. For example, on an average day I run for about 25-30 mins have 1 cup of coffee and try to eat breakfast before 10. So if any of these things feel out of whack I should realize right away "hey something's up".... Do I? Ha I wish just like most of the population I am too busy running around or don't have time for being out of whack. But mentally if we catch these things we can prevent them from altering our lives.... So instead of having a third cup of coffee, or skipping a hobby pay attention! A good way to do this is to make notes of how you feel. If you find yourselves hitting snooze every morning and then skipping breakfast because you're late, stop and think back.... Maybe it's been a stressful week at work and you need to spend an extra few mins unwinding after work so you don't keep the high pass and carry it through your evening leaving you jumping in bed wide awake and only getting a few hours of sleep. Or maybe instead of watching your favorite shows durning the week save it for the weekend and catch a few extra Zs... In anycase watch for the signs that your body gives you and more then likely it will guid you correctly.... Unless it is saying eat all the chocolate... My body likes to play that trick on me all the time. But I think I will save the food craving talk for another time!

So here we are...a day short of 6 months until the Boston Marathon... Never in my life did I think I would be a Marathon runner... Never did I think it was possible... Sometime we do not even realize all our little dreams can add up to really big ones. Which is exactly what I want to talk about! Just like my Marathon training it happens step by step (sorry for the pun... I can't help it I lived with a teacher!) But really! It is important to have little goals so that they can add up to big dreams that you don't even realized are coming true. Like for example this weekend I got to achieve one of my dreams without even realizing it was going to happen! I decided to enter the local 10k and since I haven't been training and just started running again my goal was to try and run a certain race time, on my mission to hit that time I also took first place and got to run through a finishers ribbon! WHAT THE HECK.... Can you say WILDEST DREAM COME TRUE! I have raced lots of races but never have I had this photo-op! so you better believe I lived it up! which brings me to my next point! ENJOY THE MOMENT! While we are off chasing our big dreams take the time to celebrate your little victories... every goal is a step in the direction to making your wildest dreams come true... and it is up to you to take them! lastly, DON'T BE AFRAID TO TAKE A CHANCE! The only way you will ever know what you are capable of is if you try! So go ahead and jump because who knows.... maybe you will fly! WOW WHAT A CRAZY ADVENTURE! I can't believe that it is over already! We stopped in so many different and fun places! Ill try to make this a brief overview, but I wish I could have just had you all with us! Lets see... we have to start some where.....for round 2....First was Gallup New Mexico! One of those place that you usually just drive through and wonder why are there so many hotels! Well exactly the same reason we ended up there.... After the Grand Canyon we saw so many pretty places we just had to stop and check out... Like Cliff Dwellers and Lees Ferry... ( both of which I recommend) and then hours of driving without service.... especially when you take the scenic rout... which of course we did.... No Joke HOURS of nothing and no service... Good thing Kyle and all the loving guys in my family made sure my car was all set! Regardless we were dead tired and once we found civilization we had to stop and recuperate! So we went to Denny's at about 1 am had some deliciously unhealthy food... strawberry fried pancakes with frosting.... I mean what else do you eat at 1 am. Then the next day while Kyle did some work, I did my own kind of work and went to the pool for a workout! I love making up exercises in new places with new tools. The water made for some great resistance so after jogging in the pool for 10 mins while talking to my mom..... once she realized I was holding my phone in the water she was a little leery I may drop it, but hey sometimes you just have to multitask... Plus I was missing her and couldn't wait to talk. My workout: hard kicking keeping my chin above water and alternating with reverse slow bicycles 30 seconds each x 20 after the workout we got ready were off On to Albuquerque.....Day 5 we left New Mexico and Headed to Wichita Kansas We got to be in three states at once which was pretty cool! TEXAS, NEW MEXICO, and OKLAHOMA Day 6 we left Wichita and headed for Sedalia Missouri! To see my mom's family! Seeing my Grandma Rose, Grandpa Don and Aunt Jayne was more amazing then I could ever imagine and one of the best parts of my trip. It was so much fun to hear stories of my Momma when she was a baby and see so much of her in her all of them. I felt so lucky to spend the evening getting to see that even if you don't see your family all the time or even very often you can still be so much like them. Also, who knew some of the quirky things my mom says and does are just because its in her blood.... and oh no.... what does that mean for me! At least I know I will always be able to share a good laugh.... and if Im lucky I will get some of them good cooking skills too! (read with a slight accent) But really! My Grandma and aunt spoiled me by making sure they made some of my favorite veggies and even a carrot pie! Day 7! Off to Crown Point Indian to see Kyle's Family! We spent the next couple days enjoying some down time. And now I know that it must be something about the Zienins because Wall-e fell in love with Sheri too. While we were there we also squeezed in some runs around the Lake and the sub division Kyle grew up in. For us Californians the best way I can describe a sub division is like a housing track.... I donno the difference... also they don't say THE in front of their highways and freeways.... If it wasn't that the Zienins were so awesome I'm not sure I would understand all the Hoosier stuff.... what is a Hoosier anyway.. When we got to Southern Maryland, Kyle took me to Solomons Island and we explored the new place where we would live! I think it goes without saying, but Ill say it anyway, we were ecstatic to finally be here and to start a whole new adventure!
