Merry Mindset

As the Holidays come rushing towards us it's time we slow down to make sure we enjoy them in the most fulfilling way. It is so easy to get swept up in the craziness so that we no longer have control of how we feel.... And let's be honest that is about the only thing we can control during this time of year!

So no matter what it is that gets you out of whack during the holidays here is some advice:

NUMBER 1: Don't GUILT yourself. From eating too much food to not having enough time or money, these things have already happened. Take from them lessons. Let them help you create game plans. But the past is the past let it go and be a better you from here on out.

Number 2: (not in bold less dramatic) Do not think in terms of the future. Stop and enjoy things and people. Time will pass no matter how you spend it. So weather it is in terms of other people or yourself, don't say you will care about your health after the holidays, and don't be sure of other peoples health either. Stop and enjoy the company, and the food too, all in moderation. Just like you don't have to spend and hour talking to crazy aunt So and So you also don't need a whole fruit pie. Enjoy a small sample of each even if you do enjoy one more then the other. Which ties in with.....

Number 3: Be in the here and now. One of my favorite strategies is "fake it until you make it" this can be applied to so many things during the Holidays. If you are present in the here and now it is easier to enjoy it. So say you're feeling a little Scrooge-y- sing along anyway, dance anyway, and correct me if I'm wrong but when I do this little trick, before I know it I am laughing and having a good time, even if it is at how goofy I look or act.

Happy Holidays!
