For a long time I was alway trying to figure out what I was going to "do"... put my effort into....Always thinking "okay once I decide which thing to put my effort into, once I decide what I want to do it, that is what I'll be good at it. Until then I'll just be here.. doing these other things because how could I ever be great at something if it's not the one thing I decide to do and be putting 110% effort towards...... you know what, I was wrong! I was/am doing all kinds of things everyday! I like doing lots of things! I didn't have to pick just one. The Jill of all trades master of none... You know what, No! I could be a master of many! And you know what even if I'm not a master of them all I should put my best effort in everything I do".....And you know what happened I started to feel great. Great about all of the things I was doing and stopped searching for something to be the right thing.....
I'll go out on a limb and say everyone feels better when they are trying their best. And it doesn't have to be just one thing you are trying with! When I stopped trying to decide and decided to try my best at everything I was doing and to actually DO them, I started to see progression in many areas of my life! Everything I was already doing was great, and if I wanted to I could be successful at any and all of those things, all I had to do was focus on them when I was in that moment. How did I do this.... 1. I started to live more in the present. That is not to say there was no planning, planning is part of success I started planning on working on things that were currently in progress, or that I wanted to be in progress. Making the things I wanted to happen happen. 2. While working on those thing I started pretending I was a professional at whatever it was I was doing in the present moment. When running I acted as I thought a professional runner would. When selling shoes I was a professional at selling shoes. When I was a trainer, I was a....... you guessed it, professional trainer. The great thing was, no one other then me knew I was pretending, I was just doing! and doing it the best way I knew how. 3. STAY POSITIVE, you would think this was the easiest one, but at times that is far from the truth. For example I am not by any means claiming to be a professional at any of the things above, far from it actually. Which means there is a lot of learning, growing, and even mistakes being made. But as long as I am doing the best that I know how, it feels great! So in short, what you are doing is up to you and be happy doing it!

Today was the first day of the beach body bootcamp challenge! (ha that is a mouthful) Anyways, it was awesome! The pups even joined in on the fun! Lots of hard work bright and early! The turn out was great, I feel so lucky to have such awesome clients! Most of the time I think they motivate me at least as much as I do them! It will be good to have 2 days before we get back at it again! I am not one of those trainers who tries to make my clients not able to walk the day after our workout. I am all about functional fitness.... Them abs though.... They better be sore! A killer core is key to any balance healthy individual. I am also excited about our journals healthy minds enhance healthy bodies! I hope everyone has a great Friday!
It is so easy to feel stuck, or question what we are doing. Be it work, exercise, relationships. It happens to me all the time. So I am not going to sit here and tell you how to make that not happen, I am just going to tell you what I do to get out of it as soon as possible! Here's how! Have multiple reasons you are perusing any given goal. We are multi dimensional beings, so the things were do should meet more then one of those aspects of our personality. That way when a job, or a measurement, or a relation are not filling one of those desires we can remember the other reasons we continue to work hard and strive to be better in that area of our lives. Positive energy is contagious and sometimes to get what we need from others, we must put it out there first. Sometimes the person who needs you is you and the person you might need is yourself. Never quit and always remember there is more then one reason you started.
Sometimes I think my family mixes the word Easter up with Eater! I mean don't get me wrong, a weekend of celebrating and sharing good times with family and friends is exactly what I am all about! But what do we do after all our fun!? That is what makes a difference. So if you are like me and love to indulge on all the goodies that are around on these fun festive get togethers don't freak out! You have not fallen of the band wagon, you don't have to kiss your summer body good bye! For several reasons, what we eat in occasion does not make our bodies one way or another. Just like it takes time to lose weight it takes time to gain it. We have to create the neuro-pathways in our brains. So as long as the majority of the time we train our brains to be efficient and crave the proper portions and nutrients from yummy healthy food we are doing awesome! We also have to train our brains to not think we are restricting ourselves either because then our brains will feel discomfort and start to crave a less stressful environment and begin to regard our new healthy habits as uncomfortable and undesirable. Treat you're training as a reward and you will be excited to get back to it once you have taken the time to stop and enjoy your family, friends and festivities!
Take a step back and look at who you are... You have chosen to be you! Sure there are things in life we cannot control but we choose what we do with them. We choose how we react, what and how we take things in. We choose to put ourselves around the people we know. We choose what close we wear. What coffee we drink. We choose who we smile at in the grocery store. Life is full of choices. So take a step back and think... Are you choosing the you that you want to be. This morning as I am sitting here sending out emails about the up coming challenge I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. Drinking coffee in my "hippie" clothes out of a green mug, I also had elephants on my shirt... What! Awesome! I love all of those things. Anyways, what I am trying to say is love the little things in life. Love the little things about yourself, because you choose even the little things. And all the little things add up to big things. Like choosing who you are and choosing to love yourself! So embrace who ever you choose to be, and just go with it!
Part of living a balanced life is taking charge of our $$$ too! I hate doing taxes, this year what I decided to do was play a little dress up. I figured if I dressed like a professional when I did my taxes I would feel better about doing them and maybe a little more professional. And hey what do you know... Still blah taxes but I felt good about me! Looking good and feeling good have an unspoken correlation... So even if you owe taxes you also owe it to yourself to look good and feel good! Take charge of your day and how you feel even when dealing with not so fun "adult" stuff!
It's that time of year again, tank tops, swim suits, shorts (always my danger zone!) pick your poison, come out and get the body you want! Before summer, so you can be happy and proud of those short shorts, spaghetti tops and bikini bottoms!
Join me and some other awesome people as we get ready for summer hand have a tone of fun! April 25- May 26 we will be meeting at Kimble park for 2 bootcamps! 6:00am and 9:00 am M/W/F along with mini challenges and lots of motivation! For more information and pricing go to www.trueyoufitnesstraining.com and look under challenge! Can't wait to see you out there! The only thing that is gaurenteed is that you always have to choice to do the best you can with what you have got. Some days that 100% might only be 80% of another day but as long as you can look yourself in the eyes and say hey we gave it what we had then that is just fine! You're actions, you're mind, and you're body are between you and you alone. The above image is me today, I have been working hard. I have had a lot going on. I may not look the best I have ever looked, or be the fastest I have ever been, but I know that I have been doing the best that I can with what I got right now, and knowing that I can still be proud. Compliment someone, even a stranger. Compliments always bring a smile to someone's face. And you will feel just as good giving one as getting one. Try that one on for size... I'm sure you will like it. |
