Now today I am not talking about the big it makes you happy so that is what you should do with your life kind of so do it. Today I am simply talking about the little things. Make time for the little things, make time for you!
For example, I love coffee, country music, running, and kisses. So yes I have to go to work today, yes I have to clean the house, yes I have to do the dishes, yes I have to do the laundry. But you know what, I can do all those things and incorporate the things I love. Its a matter of time and timing, and making myself a priority!
Wait what.... what do you know.... I am important to me.... ( ok even with that sarcasm I realize sometimes this is really hard to do.... but it shouldn't)
We get the love we expect, and that even comes down to ourselves... so own it! give yourself some loving!
And you know what! you will be surprised you will actually feel better and more motivated. You will start to believe in yourself, respect yourself, and even want to earn that self self respect.
So like I was saying (before I got side tracked with loving myself) about the things I love and making that time.... give it a try....
lesson learned today: I had my coffee and allowed myself a few extra kisses from my amazing boyfriend instead of my normal rushing off to start my day. I organized the kitchen, did dishes and went for a run while running I listened to some great country music and before I knew it I was done cleaning and the laundry was already in the wash. Those few extra moments of happy really got me moving.
After all that I felt really accomplished and respected myself for getting all this stuff done before work today and what do you know, I was actually exited to go to work and relax and not think about all the stuff I needed to do.... WOW who would have ever thought. Slowing down my morning would give me so much extra time.
Doing this sort of thing for yourself allows you to feel accomplished and relaxing feels more like a reward as apposed to procrastination.
So give it a try... Do what makes you happy.
