It always helps to have a workout buddy! When it comes to our fitness accountability is key. Not to mention how much more fun it is to struggle with someone as apposed to suffering alone right! So here are some suggestions when it comes to finding buddies: Have several! The more the merrier right? Not only is it beneficial to have someone with the same level of fitness as you, but if you have several it cant hurt to have some that are a little better so they can push you a little past your limits, in a safe and helpful way, so that you can reach new levels, and also having someone that you can encourage and help rise them up to new levels of fitness and reach new goals. Always remember everyone has their own journey so you do not need to compare yourself with those that are there to help you be a better you, not a better them. Find partners that like different activities. Possibly something you wouldn't necessarily do on your own. For example, I have running buddies, hiking buddies, lifting buddies, walking buddies, and buddies that I never know what adventure we are gunna try next. When you are out doing an activity, with the exception of the gym, I find that most people love sharing what they are doing, so if you wanna find out more, just ask. Typically people are passionate about their hobbies and don't mind sharing. Who knows you may end up planning a type where you can do the activity with the new found friend. Last but not least join a club, a fitness class, or a team. I have to say for me this has been a life saver. Everywhere I have lived I have been a part of a club or a team and those are the people I end up spending most of my time with. The become your extended family and who you spend your free time with, because what do you know you instantly have friends who share the same interest as you! Happy Friend Finding =]
